Led by their secretary Cyprin Odera, the nurses vowed not to go back to work until the county government fully implements the 2017 CBA.

A spot check at the Nakuru Level 5 hospital showed services at the facility have been paralyzed.

According to the nurses, the county government of Nakuru has been taking them in rounds over the agreement.

Addressing media in Nakuru, Kenya National Union Secretary General Seth Panyako accused the executive of politicizing their strike.

He accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of intimidating workers and canvassing a court process in a political way.

“We will not relent in fighting for our rights and we are not cowed by the recent executive directive made by the president,” said Panyako.

Panyako said services have been paralysed in 18 counties as nurses downed their tools.
