Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot has taken issue with individuals and politicians criticising the legal team representating governor Sonko in his graft case.
In a tweet on Monday, Cheruiyot wondered why people did not complain when Busia governor Sospeter Oojamong' settled on Siaya Senator James Orengo to represent him in a past graft case, yet when it came to Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Mutula Kilonzo Jnr (Makueni) representing Sonko they took it differently.
"Curious that when @orengo_james made appearance for Gov Ojamoong, there wasn't any inch of the bile being spewed on @SenMutula & @kipmurkomen," read part of Cheruiyot's tweet.
Murkomen and Mutula Kilonzo Junior represented governor Mike Sonko in a case involving loss of funds in Nairobi county.
Siaya Senator James Orengo also represented Busia governor Sospeter Oojamong in another graft case in the past.
The governor was arrested on Friday in Voi after an arrest warrant was issued by the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji.
On Monday, Sonko was arraigned in Malimani court to answer to the case involving loss of funds and other charges levelled against him.
However, the governor denied all charges preferred against him.
He has remained in police custody awaiting the determination of bail the applied for.
