The Ministry of interior on Saturday through its Twitter handle announced that 180 heroes from various parts of the country will be transported for the Mashujaa day celebrations on Sunday.
The ministry nonetheless added that besides the 180 heroes, other unsung heroes will also be celebrated.
"Besides the 180 Mashujaa drawn from different parts across the country, all our heroes and heroines -- the famous and the unsung, young and old, regardless of tribe or race -- will be celebrated during Mashujaa Day that will be held tomorrow at the Mama Ngina Waterfront Park," the tweet read.
The statement from the ministry of interior comes amid public outcry over the forgotten heroes. A section Kenyan social media users took to twitter where they claimed the real heroes who had fought for the countries freedom had been forgotten. They claimed that Mashujaa day had lost its significance as most of the families of Kenya's heroes were suffering in poverty.
Some of the netizens also pointed out that there is still a lot of problems that needed to be addressed.
Mashujaa day which is marked every year on October 20 is meant to celebrate the Kenya's heroes.
