For the better part of the week ending, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi has been the point of highlight in the media because of excerpts from his latest book titled "Soaring Above Storms of Passion."
He highlights the various things that happened to his political career since time immemorial including happenings during the era of Moi.
In an interview with K24 tv, Amani National Congress party leader revealed that his working for Moi was never a mistake. This came when he was asked whether he regret some of the decisions he has made politically which put him on the wrong side.
The former Deputy Prime Minister accepted that it is true that by reflecting some of his political decisions, he truly made mistakes but it was not a mistake for him to work for the Former President Mzee Moi. He goes ahead to praise the former president by saying that he truly made a significant contribution to this country.
"Working for Moi was not a mistake. Moi made a significant contribution to this country. We cannot wish it away."Mudavadi said
Also, Mudavadi agrees that during Moi's era, there were many shortcomings but at least the former president did his best to make some significant changes. He gives an example of how Moi courageously passed power to Kibaki after being defeated in 2002 general elections.
"Moi's presidency had its shortcomings but he made significant changes. After his term, after Kibaki won, this Mzee went to Uhuru Park and handed over the instruments of power. He did not cling to power, " He added.
