As the President Uhuru Kenyatta succession politics gains stoppable momentum going into the 2022 election, political bigwigs are readying themselves for a ferocious contest.
However, amid all this, some have decided to employ dirty tactics as alleged by Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
According to Duale who is a key confidante of Deputy President William Ruto, there is a systematic plan by the DP's rivals to dim his political ambitions by use of underhand tactics.
Duale who is also the National Assembly Majority leader, claims that the recent Ipsos Synovate opinion poll that ranked the DP as the most corrupt Kenyan was politically motivated.
"You have seen them throw dirt at the Deputy President, sponsoring opinion polls to show him as the most corrupt with a view to blunt his 2022 chances," said Duale Saturday.
Ruto's political allies have in the past maintained that the DP will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta no matter what.
However, on the other side, his would-be rivals in the 2022 State House race have vowed to deny him the chance to led the country.
