A popular club in Eldoret town known as Black Bamboo Lounge is the talk of the town after a man who was physically assaulted by a bouncer at the club died while receiving treatment on Thursday.
Abraham Kibet, 20, is reportedly said to have been pushed down the stairs where he sustained serious injuries. He was later admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
Speaking to the Nation, Chief Executive Officer at MTRH Dr Wilson Aruasa revealed that brain surgery was conducted on the victim.
“The victim was admitted at our hospital on Saturday at around 3.20am with head injuries. He was wheeled to the theatre where brain surgery was conducted before he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Sunday morning, unfortunately, we lost him on Thursday at around 11 am,” Dr Aruasa noted.
Jonathan Munyaka, the Manager of the club has confessed that indeed the incident happened at the club.
“It is true that the incident happened at our club and we are working with the authorities to unravel the truth,” Munyaka stated.
One suspect was arraigned in court on Monday in connection with the incident. He is currently being held at Eldoret Central Police Station as the police continue with investigations.
