The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has finally revealed the full list of counties engaging in corruption basing on their graft index and also the sums of monies that residents have to part with in order to access public services.
According to the latest report,
Wajir county ranks top among all the counties with highest chances of bribery.
At the second position is the Tana River country followed by Mandera, Kakamega county, Busia, and Narok in descending order.
Other counties appearing in the top ten list of most corrupt counties include Machakos, Kisii, Mombasa, and Homabay.
The EACC's assessments by counties found out that Mandera County had the highest average bribes standing at Sh35,440 closely followed by Kisumu at Sh26,762, Busia at Sh18,866.61, Nyamira at Sh10,967, Muranga with Sh 9,297 and Nairobi county at Sh8,916.
Local service seekers in Turkana county pay at least Sh6791, while in Uasin Gishu and Wajir counties they pay Sh6744 and Sh6235 respectively.
