Estranged Nyamira Deputy Speaker Duke Omoti has denied claims that he orchastrated chaos at Viongozi Center on Friday during live show on county dialogue hosted by Egesa FM.
Instead, Omoti says leaders who were on the floor failed to satisfactorily answer questions staged by locals thus the aftermath.
"I just participated like any leader and I am not aware of who planned the chaos. What I know, leaders failed to answer questions appropriately," he said.
Chaos erupted when MCAs allied to Speaker Moffat Teya accused moderator Sorobi Moturi of having taken instructions from Omoti to ask specific questions in a wider plot to embarrass the speaker.
A witness who sought anonymity said that the deputy speaker, a close confidant of ODM leader Raila Odinga, cocked his gun when fracas superceded the debate.
"He cocked his gun and scared a section of MCAs who wanted to descend on him. He stood at a corner as his colleagues scampered for safety."
Mr.Omoti, the Kiabonyoru MCA, who is also a licensed gun holder, declined to comment, but insisted that security to all Kenyans is fundamental.
Six MCAs among them Majority Leader Duke Masira were summoned by ODM disciplinary committee over Omoti's ouster last week and the Fred Athuok led committee will make a determination in two weeks time.
Speaker Moffat Teya is under immense pressure with a section of MCAs allied to Omoti accusing him of fraudulently overseeing Sh379 million tender for Assembly's new block, a move that has led to presence of Auditor General workers from Nairobi.
