Obado’s supporters claim that ODM party has failed to support the county boss as he is facing charges over the murder of  Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

On Monday, Deputy President William Ruto toured Migori county to launch tarmac road projects and also attended church fundraising in the county.

This comes as the DP is on a mission to win new territories and ambassadors of his manifesto as he prepares for 2022 general elections where he will be vying for the country’s presidential seat.

During the visit, Obado rallied his supporters to attend DP Ruto’s events. He warmly received the guest and accompanied him throughout his tour in the county and the residents turned out in large numbers and pledged their support to Ruto.

Migori County is believed to be ODM’s stronghold but what was witnessed during DP Ruto’s tour portrays that something might be cooking between Obado and the hustler as both were also rumoured to have supported Eddy Oketch in the recently concluded senatorial by-elections in the county.

Ruto-Obado coalition ahead of 2022 might be formed anytime as the DP promised to return to the county in February 2019.
