The former prime minister was appointed African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa in October 20.

President Uhuru Kenyatta made the announcement during this year's Mashujaa Day fete at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, an announcement that was preceded by Namibian President Hage Geingob.

Below is Mudavadi' congratulatory message to Raila Odinga issued on October 24.

"Raila is tailormade for Africa-to-Africa linkage,

MudavadiI would like to formally congratulate my brother Hon. Raila Odinga on his recent appointment by the AU as its high envoy on infrastructure.

This is a great honour to Kenya and due recognition to Hon. Raila.

The AU could not have picked on a more able personality given Hon. Raila’s enthusiasm, drive and commitment on issues Pan-Africanism.

Indeed, the problem of absent linkages between African countries needs the stature of Hon. Raila to give inert solutions a new impetus.

This is more so when it comes to convincing a sceptical international community that developing linkage infrastructure within Africa is to their advantage in accessing a market of 1.2 billion people.

I am certain he will make a great difference in championing an Africa-to--Africa linkage in matters of transport, trade, Agriculture, and in the creation of an Africa Common Market.

Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH

ANC Party Leader and NASA Founder"
