Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s wife Primrose Mbuvi on Tuesday, October 2, paid an impromptu visit to a family in Kibera which has been living in an old car as their home.
The First Lady first heard about this young family’s troubles as their story was highlighted on KTN.
Ishmael Abdalla Khamis and his two sons Talib and Said Ishmael will now have a good house as promised by the First Lady.
She offered to provide him (Ishmael) with a temporary shelter and even offered to take his kids to school.
According to Ishmael, he started living in this car in 2013 when his water business collapsed.
His wife did not stay long as this situation made her take off leaving the kids with the man alone.
Governor Mike Sonko has appreciated his wife’s move to save the family and shared a post on his Facebook page.
“The First Lady has offered to provide a temporary shelter for the father of two who is currently living inside an abandoned car in Makina. Additionally, the First Lady will ensure the two kids are admitted in school,” he wrote.
