Mavoko police have launched manhunt for two men who allegedly murdered one man in Kwa Mboo area, in Kinanie location.

The body of the man was found lying by the roadside with deep cuts on his head and cheeks. 

Kinanie chief Josphat Musinga confirmed the incident. He said that the murdered man is a lorry turnboy.

He observed that on Monday night the deceased was on a lorry transporting sand and on reaching the scene stopped to scoop sand from the roadside to fill the lorry.

In the process, they were attacked by two men who were armed with spades where the lorry driver escaped leaving the deceased with his attackers who robbed him of his life. 

"I received reports that there's a body lying by the roadside, together with the police we went to the scene.We found the deceased who was allegedly attacked by unknown people with spades while scooping sand to fill the lorry they had," said Musinga.

"He had a deep cut on his head and on his cheek which may have led to his death," he added. 

He said that the police took the body to Machakos level five hospital mortuary for preservation as investigations commenced. 

He warned residents against scooping sand decrying environmental degradation.
