Ambira High School principal Thomas Odhiambo has positively identified eight of his students captured in a viral video on Wednesday, police reports have confirmed.

The video, widely shared by bloggers among them Cyprian Nyakundi, shows unidentified rowdy students calling Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and his education counterpart Amina Mohammed all manners of unprintable words.

A statement written by Mr Odhiambo in Ugunja Police Station, implicates eight students, who could now face disciplinary actions.

Earlier, Matiang'i had reportedly deployed detectives from DCI offices to the said school to unearth masterminds of the vital video.

In the video, the charged students, who had just completed their last KCSE paper, are heard confessing that despite tight security, they were still able to cheat in the exams.

Below is the full statement recorded at the police station in Ugunja Sub County, Siaya on Friday, November 23.

"Siaya county Ugunja sub county Ugunja police stationIncident Report: Occured on 21/11/18 by phone by the principal Ambira High School one Mr Thomas Odhiambo Kogola of tel no. 0712059423 that he saw a clip on the social media where by students were using vulgar languages against CS Education Ambassador Dr. Amina mohamed and CS Interior Dr. Fred Matiang'i. 

"They further alleged that they cheated in the ongoing examinations. County Education team, subcounty education officials. It was established that about 150 form 4 candidates most of them who had finished their arts examinations assembled at the waste dumping side close to the fence behind the classes."

"They lit fire christened Academic Fire burning waste papers, dancing and using vulgar language against CS Education Amina Mohamed and Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i. Pricipal was able to identify students amongst the ones who participated as follows:

2. Hongo Steven form 4Y Adm No. 8847 1573. 

3. Barry Oduor Odhiambo form 4W Adm no. 8923 index 2414. 

4. Odhiambo Ralph Lauren form 4Y Adm no. 8851 index 1245. 

5. Omondi Joshua Otieno form 4Y adm no. 8678 index 117 6. 

6. Edwin Omondi form 4B adm no. 8751 index 1587. 

7. Clinton Oduor Onyango form 4G adm no. 8716 index 2448. 

8. Lavin Jude Ombago adm no. 8956 

Further it is confirmed that there was no examinations cheating reported during the period in the school. Incident under investigations and a progress report to follow.
