Appearing before Lady Justice Jessie Lessit at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Wednesday, the court was told that Oyamo lured the slain beauty from her parents’ home in Homabay County to Rongo, Migori County, before handing her over to her killers.

This happened on the night of September 3.

In an affidavit filed in court, Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officer Clement Mwangi said that after handing over Sharon and journalist Barrack Oduor who had accompanied her, the suspect left for Uriri.

He then, according to the prosecution, made a false report at a police station claiming that he had been abducted through OB Number 19/4/9/2018, reports the Citizen Digital.

The prosecution further rubbished initial reports by the investigating officer that Oyamo had as well received treatment at around 9 PM at the Kisii Level 5 hospital on September 4, confirming that the submission is false.

“I have also established from Kisii Level V Hospital that the accused person was never a patient at the hospital on the alleged date,” reads the affidavit as was seen by the Citizen Digital.

The investigating officer confirmed that he has statements implicating Oyamo, Governor Obado, his other aide Caspal Obiero, all of whom are in police custody, and other suspects not yet apprehended in the murder.

Sharon's lifeless body was found in a thicket near Oyugis, Homabay County.
