A Member of County Assembly of Nyamira has pleaded with Governor John Nyagarama to move with speed and ensure chief officers are hired on permanent terms.
Magombo MCA Richard Onyinkwa protested that the county hired chief officers in acting capacity last year and is yet to confirm them.
"Currently we have chief officers who were hired last year in acting capacity. And now it is 18 months down the road the officers are still serving on acting capacity. This is a magnitude of the problems Nyamira is facing that the devolved unit," said the MCA as reported by Egesa Fm.
Mr Onyinkwa questioned the county's operations, arguing that the governor should employ professionalism.
"People are being hired to work in the county without obeying the law. Even recruitment is done without due process of the law," protested the MCA.
This comes when Governor Nyagarama is under pressure to produce a full list of county workers who were kicked out of the payroll after the names were sneaked into the payroll.
