Former Flamingo Ward Councillor Abdul Noor has called upon Nakuru county Governor Lee Kinyajui to resign from power and head home.
Speaking on Saturday, Noor claimed that the county boss has failed to streamline corruption in the county and is now presiding over massive misappropriation of public funds.
He claimed that Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have been using millions of shillings on useless tours and travels, some of whose costs have been inflated.
He gave an example of a recent tour of six MCAs to Nyeri county at an exaggerated cost of Ksh11 million shillings, proof that Governor Kinyanjui is failing.
"Lee na serikali yake wanafaa kujiuzulu kwa sababu ameshindwa kazi. Nilimwandikia barua majuzi nikitaka majibu kuhusu safari ya MCA sita kuelekea Nyeri kwa gharama ya millioni 11.
(He has failed and should consider resigning alongside his leadership over misappropriation of funds. The latest one was the use of Ksh11 million to cater for a tour of 6 MCAs to Nyeri county)," he said.
He said that the county boss seems to have fallen victim of his MCAs who have apparently overpowered him, and cannot reject their bids to eat into public coffers.
The ex-ward rep claimed that there is a new plan by the group to again waste more funds in a looming tour of the coastal city of Mombasa.
"Inaonekana Gavana ameanza kutishwa kutishwa na MCAs na kila siku kuna mipango mipya ya usafiri. Hata sasa kuna mipango ya kuelekea Mombasa.
(He hass unable to tame the MCAs and they are consequently allocating themselves more and more trips. Currently plans are ongoing about a new one in Mombasa)," he added.
