The six were on Saturday nabbed with a jerrycan of petroleum which both the school administration and police believe was to be used to raze down the institution.

The incident was confirmed by Bondo Sub County Police Commander Anthony Wafula who said that they were called in after the school nabbed the petrol after an inspection.

He said that the school administration, working on a tip-off, found the six with the petrol in the dormitories, before calling the police who picked them and locked them up.

He added that the suspects who were also found in possession of a matchbox will be arraigned with planning to commit arson once the investigations are over.

“We are planning to arraign them once we are through with the investigations in order to face charges of planning to commit arson," he told the Standard.

This comes at s time when the police are yet to establish the cause of a fire that destroyed two dormitories in the same school last year, which saw the school closed.
