The county government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Education on Tuesday issued cheques worth Sh5.4 million to ECDE centres in Kapseret.
The funds were disbursed to nine public schools which will facilitate the completion of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classrooms that were under construction.
Finance CeC Julius Rutto who was represented Governor Jackson Mandago said that the county government was selflessly working to ensure that education for the early learners is addressed with utmost seriousness.
"Governor Jackson Mandago is passionate about the young generation and he has promised to ensure that all children get a conducive learning environment before his term lapse," said Rutto.
The beneficiaries are Simat, Aturei, Kapkagaron, Kosyin, Nairiri, Cheptabach, O'chemina, Mwiruti and pioneer ECDEs.
"I urge the school management committees to ensure all the funds are used appropriately and records kept for future references," he added.
The CEC for Education, Joseph Kurgat, lauded the county government for its passion about young people.
He further added that the Finance ministry has allocated Sh300 million for the construction of a stadium in Simat.
The Chief Officer in the Education ministry Jane Njuguna urged the committee members that will be responsible for the construction of the classroom to be transparent and account for all the finances.Uasin Gishu disburses Sh5.4m cheques for construction of ECDE centres in Kapseret
