At Kenyatta University, female students who date sponsors have a few characteristics in common.

A majority of them prefer living in estates near the school such as Kahawa, Roysambu, Ruiru, Kasarani among many other places.

Their dress code and way of life is also flashy. Some of them take their meals at the BSSC and other expensive places near the school.

However, there are rules these students need to put in mind for their relationships to last longer without anyone getting hurt. Here are five rules students should always abide by when dating sponsors:

1. Be smart

Having a sponsor is never a guaranteed relationship. He might end the relationship at any time. Therefore, always make smart decisions when with him so that you don’t get yourself in trouble. For instance, you should never threaten your sponsor as they have an image/ name to protect

2.  Don’t fall in love

Many students go for sponsors just for the money. Therefore, always stick to that and never have feelings for him. He doesn’t love you and will never leave his wife for you so don’t fall in love with. You shouldn't also expect to have a future with sponsors.

3. Never be jealous

Dating a sponsor is very tricky. He doesn't answer to you and his private life is usually none of your concern. Even if you find out he is dating someone else, you are not supposed to get jealous. Just leave the relationship instead. Being jealous will only cause trouble in the relationship.

4. Don’t call him at night

A sponsor has a wife and children. He only sneaks out to see you during his free time. Therefore, always stay on your lane and don’t make night calls to him. Also don’t text him unless he texts you.
