This happened on Monday affecting various websites and bringing a halt to their operations.

The affected websites displayed a message from the Indonesian cyber attackers, which shows that they have taken control of the websites.

“Hacked by W4r10k, Kurd electronic team,” read the message on the hacked sites as quoted by Citizen Digital.

The affected websites include Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) portal, National Youth Service (NYS), Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Immigration Department, National Development Implementation and Technical Communication (NDICT), Kenya Meat Commission, Petroleum Ministry and Refugees Affairs among others.

When trying to open these sites, someone receives a sorry message which shows they have been tampered with.

“Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. If you need to you can always contact us, otherwise, we’ll be back online shortly!” reads the message on the affected pages.

However, the Kenya ICT Authority recovered these websites. They are currently undergoing maintenance to be returned to their normal.

Usually, when a website is hacked, its homepage is defaced, its IP Address and many other things are changed.
