Witnesses said Tabitha Moraa attacked Stella Kerubo at a shop where she found her.

"Moraa stormed at a shop where Kerubo was buying sugar and attacked her claiming she (Kerubo) has been in a relationship with a man identified Jeremiah Mbwayo who happens to be her lover," said Job Ombati.

Mr. Ombati said residents intervened and stopped the two from fighting.

"Moraa and Kerubo were apprehended and surrendered to area chief Edward Manundu's office," he added.

The chief said he warned the women against fighting in public again.

"Unnecessary fights are prohibited. Moraa and Kerubo who are both widows will be reporting to my office daily for the next one month as away of punishing them for fighting in public because of a man," he said.

Manundu urged men to be wise when making love with women whose husbands are dead to avoid dramas in the area which will bring shame.

"Adults should behave well so that young people don't copy bad examples," he added.
