Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has lauded Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa after the former cut short a speech by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna on Friday.
Khalwale took to his official Twitter handle to comment on the incident that has elicited sharp reactions among Kenyans.
"Honestly who is going 2 advice this greenhorn by the name of @edwinsifuna? We are making @TheODMparty play ground so tiny that their jokers will have a very limited area where ro fool Kenyans with tibim, tialala, etc. Congratulations @HonJumwa for ua commitment 2 the New Kenya,"Khalwale tweeted on Friday.
On Friday at the funeral of Benjamin Kingi, father to Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi in Malindi, Sifuna's speech was cut short after host MP Aisha Jumwa snatched the microphone from him.
Sifuna had started to explain the process of removing a member from the ODM party beforeJumwa scolded him for bringing ODM politics to the funeral.
"The party rules are very clear on disciplining members. The rules were not created by Sifuna" the ODM SG said before being interrupted.
The ODM SG later hit out at Jumwa accusing her of denying him the opportunity to speak. Sifuna, however, said that he respects Jumwa and could not have engaged her physically.
"I would never get into a physical confrontation with a woman. Never have Never will," Sifuna tweeted.
Jumwa was expelled from the Orange Party for allegedly supporting Deputy President William Ruto.
She, however, challenged her expulsion in court and says her support for DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid is unstoppable.
