Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has asked his political opponents to hold their horses until his term ends in 2022.
Citing cases where local politicians discredit his leadership claiming his time is over, Mvurya said the time for politicking is not ripe yet.
"They are telling you my term is over and I have no development agenda anymore. But I am telling them am still around fulfilling my pledges. My term ends in 2022," he said on Tuesday.
He said that he will not leave before fulfilling his pledges such as sponsoring students 100 per cent in national schools, universities, youth polytechnics and other institutions.
"I will make sure I give Kwale people water, good hospitals, bursaries, good roads, agricultural produce and so on. I will fulfill all the pledges I made yo the citizens during campaigns," he said.
Even after ending his second term, Governor Mvurya said he will seek a national position.
Speaking when opening a girls hostel at the Mrima Polytechnic, the Kwale governor declared support for his Deputy Fatuma Achani saying she is the only politician fit to succeed him come 2022.
Accompanied by Achani, the Jubilee governor also opened a dispensary in Vitsangalaweni, Lungalunga Sub-county.
