The recent exchange of words between Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa, and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, has continued to elicit reactions from various people.
In a tweet on Monday, lawyer Miguna Miguna advised the two leaders not to not use their ethnic communities, as a shield to fight the political disagreement between them.
Instead, Miguna asked them to focus and fight the 'one-man' show that is in ODM.
"My unsolicited advice to Aisha Jumwa and Edwin Sifuna: don't invoke the names of your respective ethnicities in what is otherwise a political contest and disagreement. Being a Mijikenda or Luhya have nothing to do with the one-main authoritarianism in ODM. Speak as Kenyans," reads a Twitter statement by Miguna Miguna.
This was in connection to a recent public confrontation where Jumwa cut short Sifuna's speech, during the burial of Dr William Kingi's father.
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, who was present at the burial, wants Jumwa to find a better way of resolving the crisis that befell her.
"I know all about Jumwa’s issues in full. Mine is to ask all those concerned. Jumwa you are bitter and everyone knows about it. You have a right to be bitter and frustrated as a politician. I want you to look for better ways to fight this crisis that has befallen you. Some ways will not help you. There are ways that when you use will attract more Kenyans and Kilifians to support you," said Kingi as quoted by Standard.
