The Governor was on Wednesday released on a Ksh5 million bail by High Court Judge Jessie Lesiit in his ongoing murder case, ending his 34-day stay in Industrial Area remand prison.

Obado was on September 21 arrested in line with the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno whose body was retrieved from a thicket near Oyugis, Homabay County.

And on Saturday, he arrived in Migori for the first time since his arrest and went ahead to attend at a church sermon at the Upper Hill Seventh Day Adventist church.

The county chief avoided touching on the issue, in line with Justice Lesiit's orders.

Obado was as well cautioned against interfering with witnesses in the case, and is also to stay 20 kilometres away from Homabay county borders.

He is also not to get into any type of contact with Sharon's family which lives in Homabay and was also to deposit his travel documents at the court, failure to which his bail will be cancelled.

Sharon was laid to rest on Friday October 19 at his grandfather compound in Magare Village, in a heavily attended event that was graced by some political leaders in the Luo Nyanza area.
