By sealing a 3-0 victory against Ethiopia four months ago at Kasarani Stadium,  the national team effectively qualified.

Many Kenyans have raised questions as to why the team has not been rewarded their promise after such a long time,  a section of pundits arguing the government was lying to the national team.

Some even claim the promise was made with the government thinking that Kenya will most likely not qualify.

Speaking at a live Facebook interview with the Banana Peddler, Albert Nyakundi Amenya and Dr Onyango Ochieng Jnr,  businessman and the youth secretary in the office of the Deputy President Mr Anthony Kibagendi disclosed when the promise will be fulfilled.

Mr Kibagendi said that the pledge the Deputy President made to Harambee stars will be paid but at the right time when all players and Captain will be in the country and not when the public want.

"This money will be given to the captain of Harambee stars, who still has an ongoing league in the United Kingdom, other leagues are also going on," he said.

"When we will have the international break,  we will have all the Harambee stars players in the country. All of them will be called on board and will be able to receive the sh. 50 Million," he added.

He went on to defend the deputy President against the allegations that the Dusit D2 attack victims have not been helped to clear medical bills as promised by DP Ruto.

He said the bureaucracy and communication challenge has led to delay but promised all will be settled.
