President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday said his government will ensure the construction of Suneka airstrip is completed by end of this year amid cheers from residents.
The Head of State assured that he is development oriented.
"Projects under the national government such as Suneka airstrip will be completed by the end of this year. I will ensure more funds are allocated for the airstrip to be completed," he said.
He said once the airstrip will be completed local youths will get jobs.
"Our youths will get jobs at the airstrip once its operational. I am appealing for your patience so that the projects can be completed in time," noted the Head of State.
According to Uhuru, his government allocated funds for the expansion and upgrading of over 300 kilometres roads in the entire county of Kisii.
"As a government, we are committed to ensuring transportation of people and agricultural products to various markets is made easy by ensuring roads are opened up and expanded," said Uhuru.
He challenged politicians to shun politics based on political parties and tribe adding that Kenyans should remain united at all times.
