Korane was quizzed by Director of Criminal Investigations detectives on his role in the shooting.

The Jubilee governor alongside other people is allegedly said to have planned for the Mukhtar’s shooting.

The governor has however denied any role as investigators piece information that has seen his brother Mohamed Bunow allegedly arrested.

The Garissa governor is also on the spot for allegedly forging his Master’s Degree.

Korane Korane is allegedly being probed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission probe for the certificate he claims he was awarded by the University of Nairobi (UoN).

The university has since denied awarding the governor any master’s degree.

According to detectives, the university degree saga is being liked to the alleged shooting of Mukhtar.

Last week, the Garissa governor was kicked out by the Senate Public Accounts Committee after he appeared before it without audit documents.

The governor is being grilled over audit queries relating to the 2014/2015 Financial Year.

Korane told the Senate that his officers were finding it hard to trace the documents.

Political analyst Peter Ngure now says that Korane could easily fall over the controversial issues surrounding him.

“His image is under threat especially in relation to the shooting of Mukhtar and will have it hard redeeming himself if will be seeking re-election in 2022,” Ngure says.
