Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has revealed details of his conversation with departed Kibra lawmaker Ken Okoth after his cancer diagnosis.
Addressing mourners at the Moi Girls Secondary School in Nairobi on Thursday, the former Premier said Okoth confided in and made the revelation after the 2017 polls.
He noted that the MP, who succumbed on Friday, immediately predicted doom for himself, confiding in the leader that he suspected that he had a very short life ahead.
"He told me that he was diagnosed with cancer and after it became more severe, he told me he suspected that he was not going to live for long," Raila said during the funeral service as quoted by the Standard.
He, however, noted that Okoth decided to remain brave despite the sharp pains he was having to enable him to serve his people, further revealing that he began his treatment in the US.
According to Raila, the move from the US to France was due to financial reasons.
He eulogized the fallen leader as a dedicated servant who fought his ailment to remain of use to his people.
The fate of Okoth's burial arrangements remains unknown after a court halted all plans pending hearing and determination of a case in which a woman claims she sired a son with the MP.
