The County Assembly has been reluctant to approve Governor Anyang Nyong'o's budget proposal on grounds that it has not been accompanied by the necessary documentation.

According to the former Kisumu Central parliamentary hopeful, Ward Representatives were as well not involved in the compilation of the proposal, hence the rejection.

He now says that he is been subjected to name-calling and pressure for discouraging the MCAs from approving the budget, arguing that the Division of Revenue Bill is also yet to be passed.

Oloo has insisted that no amount of pressure on him will force the MCAs into passing the budget proposal.

"I am not going to be rushed into passing the budget. People will call me names...we will ensure that we pass the right document in the long run,” he was quoted by the Standard Digital on Monday.

This comes amid claims that the county leadership had since included an Sh45 million per ward, which the Ward Reps have rejected demanding an additional Sh5 million per ward.

Nyong'o has pleaded with the County Assembly to endorse the budget, which was rejected some three weeks ago, observing that the delay has stalled county operations.

“We are urging the county assembly to pass the budget so that we continue with our work effectively,” said the governor.
