Confederation of African Football (CAF) has called off the Group F AFCON qualifier match pitting hosts Kenya against Sierra Leone that was scheduled for November, 18; owing to the latter's suspension by FIFA.
Sierra Leone was suspended on 5th, October, 2018, due to government interference.
The ban came on the backdrop of the Ministry of Sports for Sierra Leone suspending SLFA President Isha Johansen over corruption allegations; a thing that swung FIFA into action, thanks to its policy that calls for the government not to interfere with matters to do with football management.
Despite FIFA giving Sierra Leone government an opportunity to restore SLFA President Isha to her position and ensure fair judgment, Sierra Leone is yet to corporate with the requirement, and as a result, they failed to play against Ghana last month.
Even as Sierra Leone woes deepen, and their fate of missing earlier matches against Ghana still in limbo; it is good news for Kenya as Stars continue to top Group F with 7 points.
Ethiopia are second with 4 points while Ghana and suspended Sierra Leone have 3 points each from two matches but, Ghana has superior goal difference.
The teams have both played 2 matches; two shy of Kenya and Ethiopia.
