For Victor Maina it was a normal performance to display his talent in a soccer tournament finals on Sunday, little did he know that it was a breakthrough in his music journey.
At Rigoma grounds, Master Victor, popularly known as Vicky Young, left thousands thrilled with fans hailing his super natural talent, well composed in local dialect, Ekegusii.
Veteran musician Mr Mombinya, who ushered him to the stage, was left tongue wagging following the thrills and enthusiasm from the crowd.
"I didn't think he was such talented. As a senior, I am seeing a talent that if properly nurtured will rock this country especially on rap genre," he said in an interview.
The Methodist University first year student has written a record 10 Singles and has only recorded audios which he at times performs in live functions across Nyamira and Kisii.
His elder brother, Dennis Maina, an ODM Youth Leader, says that Vicky has been struggling to record music but he's hopeful things would change.
"He is super talented and am happy for him. He would probably get resources he requires to take his music to the next level," he said.
On Monday, Vicky Young made the first major breakthrough when he thrilled another huge crowd in the neighbouring Kisii County, a function that also saw Governor James Ongwae hailing him.
