Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i should be blamed over the police killings at Kenyenya last week, an MP allied to NASA has claimed.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, in an interview at Radio Maisha on Monday, said the minister should take responsibility.
"The security officers lack discipline and this makes them to shoot unarmed innocent people. It is time Matiang'i should carry the cross over the killings at Kenyenya," he noted.
The lawmakerfaulted Matiang'i for rushing to change police uniforms instead of addressing real issues.
"Change of police uniforms can't be the solution to the problems our people are facing. Matiang'i could have instead focused on ending increased police killings before the change of police uniforms," he added.
He urged MPs and Kenyans to stand up and oppose the newly introduced police uniforms until the required reforms at the police force are met.
