The ‘transfer’ market in the local media industry continues to shake even the unlikeliest of persons, with surprises on every turn.
Latest reports indicate that Kazungu Matano popularly known as Captain Otoyo was shown the door at Radio Maisha, a few months after taking the job.
According to reports, the popular comedian, who moved from Milele in April had discipline issues, and had already been warned about the same.
He is said to have been reporting to work late, and did not show signs of change even after the warnings.
The departure of his co-host Alex Mwakideu, who is set to join Milele FM together with his former colleague and friend Felix Odiwuor also known as Jalang’o, is said to have sealed Otoyo’s exit.
Otoyo quit Milele FM a few months ago, and was seen as a perfect replacement for Jalang’o, who had left the Mombasa-road based station for Hot 96.
It remains to be seen where he will stop next, considering he is one of the most celebrated radio comedians.
