Midiwo, who is opposition leader Raila Odinga's cousin, said Kenya should formulate laws like China where the corrupt are hanged.

Speaking during NTV's PressPass show, the former legislator singled-out the embattled National Lands Commission (NLC) chairperson Muhammed Swazuri as a person who deserves such a tough punishment.

"We need to crack the whip when it comes to corruption. In other civilizations like China, Swazuri would have been killed in Nyayo stadium," he said.

Swazuri is facing several charges in court among them conspiring to commit corruption at the Kenya Railway Corporation where the sum of Sh222,375,000 are said to have been lost.

The NLC boss is among other senior officials who were arrested on Saturday morning by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) defectives but pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared in court.

On claims that some MPs were bribed to rejected a House Committee report on contraband sugar, Midiwo asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the matter and bring culprits to book.

"DCI please save Kenya from the mess that is in Parliament. Parliament can not just shoot down the report without telling the Kenyans what was the content of the report," he said.

Midiwo added: "The people who have made President Uhuru Kenyatta lose many friends must make Parliament lose its bad face."
