The former MP did not contest for any political seat in the 2013 general election.

Mohamed was vocal and famous in the 10th parliament and his sober approach to issues saw him become a darling for many Kenyans.

However, Mohamed’s silence is what is now worrying his supporters.

The former chairperson of the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee has not been seen in public in recent months, raising concerns about his whereabouts.

In March, the former MP again shocked Kenyans when he quietly declined an ambassadorial appointment.

The former MP had been appointed as Kenya’s ambassador to South Korea.

Sources reveal that the former MP declined the position to concentrate on his legal career and business.

Political pundit Peter Ngure notes that Mohamed, who worked as president Uhuru Kenyatta’s legal advisor is among the visionary and sober politicians in the country.

“Mohamed is one of the politicians who often brought light to parliament through his sober thinking and legal expertise,” Ngure says.

The analyst notes that the former MP can easily make it top leadership if he decides to make his way back to politics.

With the 2022 succession politics taking shape, the analyst observes that Mohamed will in a way play a key role on how North Eastern will vote.
