Kisii residents have expressed their happiness following the planned visit by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
In his visit, the Head of State is expected to commission a number of new projects at Kisii Teaching and referral hospital including doctors' hostels.
Locals have said Uhuru is welcome to the county.
"Despite the fact that Kisii is an opposition stronghold, Uhuru is welcome to commission the new projects. Anyone opposed to the President's visit should consider remaining indoors on Wednesday," said Damian Ochako in Kisii town on Sunday.
Stella Omambia a trader in Kisii town said Uhuru should come along with more goodies.
"As traders we hope Mr. Kenyatta bring us more goodies such more funds to boost their businesses," she noted.
Margaret Kemuma said Uhuru's tour comes at the right time.
"It is a privilege Kisii will host President Uhuru Kenyatta. As residents we expect him to speak about the Building Bridges Initiative," she said.
Edward Bichanga argued that Kisii leaders should show up and welcome the Head of State.
"Let elected leaders turn up and request Uhuru to endorse Matiang'i for presidency in 2022," stated Mr. Bichanga.
