Suspected Al-Shabaab militants have attacked a passenger bus in Khofor Kharar, Wajir County.

Reports on Nation indicate that two people have sustained injuries following the attack.

Area police boss Thomas Ngeywa has confirmed the incident.

The incident comes barely a day after Wajir leaders met to discuss the rising insecurity and terror attacks in the region.

The meeting was attended by the elected leaders led by Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud and CAS Environment Mohamed Elmi.

The leaders resolved to work together, and ensure security is tightened in the region.
