Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has vowed to support ODM Kibra candidate Imran Okoth in the upcoming by-election.
Speaking to the Standard, Osotsi claimed that Senators; Cleophas Malala (Kakamega) and George Khaniri (Vihiga) who are allied to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi are also trooping to ODM to campaign for Imran.
This is despite ANC fielding Eliud Owalo for the November 7 contest.
According to Osotsi, those fielding candidates in Kibra are not interested in winning the seat but getting back at ODM leader Raila Odinga over political disagreements.
He claimed the plan is to frustrate Odinga's 2018 handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which Mudavadi has complained excluded him despite being in a coalition with Raila.
“It is not about the seat but people keen on settling political scores with Raila as well as to try to frustrate the handshake,” he claimed.
On Sunday, Osostsi accompanied ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna to campaign for Imran in Kibra's Laini Saba area, ahead of the much awaited poll.
Also in the race is Jubilee party's McDonald Mariga, Ford Kenya's Khamisi Butichi among others.
