Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris has hit back at a Twitter users who accused her of stooping low by explaining to every one her finances.
"You don't need to stool this low to explain your finances to every Tom, Dick n Harry,@EstherPassaris your money isn't public funds n this dependancy n culture of handouts is what confines our youth in the comfort instead of going out there n making things happen, " the Twitter user lashed out at her.
In a tweet on Friday, the first time legislator said that she doesn't stoop low as she mounted a n explanation of why she explains her finances to members of the public.
Passaris said that she was in the habit of explaining her finances so as help the public understand that she doesn't a lot of money to give away.
She disparaged what she called the dependency culture as overwhelming.
" I don't stoop low. Members of the public do not understand that when they ask for help leaders have limited resources and help where they can. The dependency culture is overwhelming. It informs laws, budgets and civic education. I believe it's good to lay the cards on the table," the Nairobi Woman Rep said.
Some time this year during a national holiday celebration, she told off youths who were in the habit of asking her for money, saying that she did not have a lot of money to give away.
