An eleven-year-old boy has been found murdered and his body stacked inside a sack in Matungulu, Machakos County.

The body was discovered at Katangini village on Sunday afternoon.

Area assistant chief Phylis Musyoka confirmed the incident.

Musyoka said the body bolongs to Nimrod Mutua who had reportedly gone missing since Saturday.

She said the deceased, a class seven pupil left their home for school on Saturday but never returned.

Musyoka said the boy had allegedly trecked to school for tuition before he disappeared.

"The boy left home for school but never returned, his parents were searching for him everywhere only to be found dead inside a sack with his school belongings," Musyoka said.

She addressed the press in Matungulu on Sunday.

Musyoka said the boy was reportedly seen walking in company of a man few metres from Katangini market on Saturday.

She said the man is suspected to be behind the deceased's death.

The chief said the man has been arrested and is helping police officers with the investigations into the boy's murder.

"The boy is said to have been seen walking with a man whom we suspect to be behind his killing. When we visited his house, there were signs of struggle. He was arrested and will help the police in investigations," Musyoka said.
