Former Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Party nominated Senator Harold Kipchumba urgently needs your help Sh3.5million to have his son Hillary Kaptum get further treatment in India.
Speaking to KTN News on Monday, the UN Immunisation Goodwill Ambassador narrated how they survived in an horrible accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Friday, April 5, 2013.
Kipchumba said he narrowly escaped death and only sustained minor injuries. For his son though, it was a miracle when he 'resurrected' because he had been presumed dead on arrival at Naivasha sub-county hospital.
"My son was driving the car at the time of the accident. I was lucky to be alive with minor injuries but Kiptum suffered serious head injuries and had even been taken to the mortuary at the Naivasha hospital where we were rushed to. Doctors established he had serious brain injury and had little chances of survival," he said.
Kiptum was later transferred to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he remained in a coma for over four months before he was later moved to Nairobi Women's Hospital.
During the incident, the high court nullified his nomination to the senate.
And after two years in hospital, spending over Sh14million, they moved to Nakuru Level Five Hospital where Kiptum attends therapy three times a week at a cost of Sh3,000.
His health condition has however deteriorated and the doctors suggest he gets further treatment in India.
And the family now's appeals for all well-wishers to help them raise the money.
The fundraising event will be held in Kivi-Milimani Hotel in Nairobi and Bontana Hotel in Nakuru on Wednesday June 27.
