Renowned United States Senator John McCain died on Saturday evening after a long battle with cancer.

In a statement, the late Senator's office confirmed the tragic news and mourned McCain as a great American leader.

At the time of his death, McCain was age 81, and had served the American people for 60 years.

His death elicited reactions from all over the world with leaders mourning him as a man of integrity.
