Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana has disapproved the move by Wiper party to cut ties with Muungano party.
Speaking on Sunday at Wote, Kibwana said that it was bad that Wiper party did not involve the people of Makueni when reaching the decision.
He said that the divorce of the two parties will greatly affect Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
"Its a big mistake for Kalonzo to end the partnership between the people of Makueni. When we were coming together, he involved the people; why did he leave them out this time around,?" questioned Kibwana.
Kibwana said that it was a show of disrespect by Kalonzo to Makueni constituents
"The divorce is not between Wiper and Muungano, it's between Kalonzo and Makueni people and this will greatly affect him if he wishes to vie as president," said Kibwana.
He went ahead to note that the bringing of the 'divorce' documents from the Registrar of Political Parties to the county assembly will spark wrangles between MCAs which is likely to hurt service delivery.
"We are trying so much to serve our people and bring development but when some people start bringing unnecessary fights between leaders we won't sit and watch, " added Kibwana.
