Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed problems Nyandarua residents are facing.
Kuria has talked of a number of challenges he noticed after attending the last ceremony of late John Mwangi Kagema CEO of equity bank and chairman of Enashipei resort on Saturday.
The MP decried how farmers in the county are suffering despite a good harvest.
"They take their meals alongside potatoes, tomatoes and onions, these are the real staple foods of this country and that makes Nyandarua the food basket of Kenya,"Kuria said.
According to Kuria, Nyandarua farmers are feeding their produce to animals.
"There are no roads in Nyandarua to deliver these products to the markets in Nakuru, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Thika etc," he said.
The MP was also shocked that despite President Uhuru Kenyatta's last mile project, many residents are still in darkness.
"Although catching up through the last mile, most households in Nyandarua do not have access to electricity," he added.
