When Citizen TV reporter-cum-anchor Jacque Maribe presented herself before the Kilimani Police Station dressed casually, she may not have anticipated that the opportunistic Kenya social media users were on the lookout.
Apparently, they were there to capture every moment of Maribe at the police station where she had not gone to report news but to be 'reported' as news.
It was a case of where a bird feeds on worms while alive but the worms feed on it when it dies.
Away from the 'bird-worm' analogy, Maribe was captured donning a black cap and grey jersey. However, what seemed to capture the attention of social media users is that she wasn't wearing any makeup.
This was unlike how people know her while on the screen, the reason she became a trending topic on many social media platforms.
Maribe had gone to the police station for interrogation over the murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani at her Kilimani apartment in Nairobi. Monica was buried yesterday (Friday) in Kairi village, Gilgil.
Maribe is the fiancée of Joseph Irungu, the prime suspect in the murder of Monica.
Here are the reactions to Maribe's Kilimani police station viral photo christened 'Jacque Maribe Challenge'.
