Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday left President Uhuru Kenyatta and thousands of Kenyans in stitches when he revisited last year's closely contested elections.
Earlier, opposition leader Raila Odinga had narrated to his followers in the Western belt why he decided to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
When he took over, Ruto claimed that he was knowing for the first time that Canaan, a term Raila used in his forth stab at presidency, was infested with crocodiles, thus sending Uhuru into laughter.
"Leo ndo nimejua kuwa Ile safari ya kwenda Canaan kumbe ilikuwa na mamba, kwa kweli Waziri Mkuu Raila angekuwa mwalimu mzuri sana, atufunze hiyo maneno," he said.
It loosely translates to: "For the first time I've known that the journey to Canaan was infested with crocodiles. Prime Minister Raila Odinga could have been a good Sunday School teacher. He could have taught me that," he said as those attending burst into laughter.
In his speech, Ruto seemed to have changed his mind again over the partnership between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, which he has been opposing lately.
President Uhuru asked Kenyans to join him in the fight against graft, adding that the input of all Kenyans was important.
"We must first corruption and for this to succeed, all of you have to join me. We cannot continue habouring corrupt fellows," he warned.
