Political analyst Martin Omollo now says that the ongoing romance between opposition leader Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta might help Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju capture a top seat in Siaya county in 2022.

While speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi on Monday morning programme, Omollo said that Tuju could be in the process of regaining his footing within the region as the two leaders are likely to reunite before 2022.

"Chances are high that Raila could be moulding Tuju to make a comeback in Siaya politics. Do not be shocked if Raila endorses him for a top seat in Siaya in 2022," he said.

Tuju who is the Secretary-General of the ruling party has always been close by whenever the opposition leader and the president are together, as it has been lately the case after their March 9 truce.

The former Rarieda lawmaker has been on crossroads with the Luo Nyanza region which remains largely allied to the opposition and has been on the government side since 2007.

Consequently, he has been branded a traitor in the region, rendering him a political hard sell in the area.

However, according to Omollo, the latter made clear his development abilities during his tenure as the Rarieda parliamentarian and will have it easier bouncing back once Raila gives him the green light.

"His problem has never been developed. He has proved to be very good at that. The issue is his different political ideologies which might be corrected by 2022," he added.

Tuju is yet to announce any political plans for 2022 after dismissing claims he would contest for Siaya governorship in 2022.
