ODM deputy party leader Hassan Joho has had a rough rise to political recognition. One of the reasons he sailed in mucky waters was how he chose his political foes. Last year was the peak of Governor Hassan Joho’s troubles as well as political cementing.
President Uhuru Kenyatta warned him and put him under what Joho termed ‘office arrest’.
In March last year, Joho was blocked from attending the re-launch Mtongwe Ferry.
Kenyatta who was battling it out with Joho’s party leader, Raila Odinga, did not hesitate to warn him.
Uhuru promised to deal with the governor’s supremacy wars against him.
“Asicheze na sisi bana, akicheza na sisi tutamnyorosha,” the president warned.
Things turned ugly when the president asked why the governor was following him around. He informed Joho that he is not in need of his support or approval.
“Tufuatane na yeye tufanye nini? Mimi sio bibi yake, mimi sina haja na yeye,” the President said during the event.
On his part, Hassan Joho addressed journalist in his office and lamented at the hefty presence of General Service Unit officers instructed to block his access to the event.
He claimed the president was afraid to share a podium with him.
