Sonko says that the MP's alleged threats amount to incitement and that action should be taken against him.

The Governor said that the ongoing demolition will not be stopped, adding that they are working on executive orders.

He said that any person aggrieved with the demolitions should with it adding that the agenda is to save riparian land.

“We are not going to negotiate with people who colluded to have buildings constructed on riparian land,” he said on Tuesday.

Governor Sonko also stated  that he will be not be intimidated to stop the ongoing demolitions.“

"I respect Sumra and he should know that I don’t fear threats,” the governor told journalists.

Sonko said that he is receiving many calls to stop the demolitions but noted that there is no going back.

The governor said that the demolitions will continue across the city adding that landlords who own apartments build on riparian land should issue notices to tenants.

He said that any building that has more than five floors and does not have a lift will be demolished.

On Sunday, Sumra was quoted saying that he will lead Asians in the city against the demolitions.

He said that he has petitioned President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop the demolitions claiming the exercise is targeting business Asians who own buildings in the city.

He also accused the multi-agency team involved of failing to issue notices making tenant lose their property.

Last week, the multi-agency team demolished the Ukay center in Westlands, South-end mall on Langata road and Sonko says that Taj mall is among buildings that will come down soon.
